102 Degrees F in Juba

Its 102 degrees Fahrenheit in the office here in Juba, Southern Sudan. I have been here for 2 weeks helping new reps set up an office and finalize program plans. Its rewarding work in this hot dusty place. Our computers are covered by a thick layer of sand by the end of the day and my mosquito net is covered in fine powder which emits a cloud every time I bump it.

To the right is a picture that summarizes the tensions between poverty/wealth, rural/urban, and traditional/modern. It was taken from the office window.
